Red Cross, Dobro.ba, SOS Children's Villages in BiH and Heart for Children have received an advanced system for managing processes and documents

Four prominent organizations - the Red Cross of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dobro.ba, SOS Children's Villages in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Heart for Children with Cancer Association - have successfully completed the implementation of the OWIS system, a software for digital process and document management, as part of a call for free digitization for non-profit organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, conducted by Orka, the manufacturer of the OWIS system. The transition to this platform means that invoices, mail protocols, user records and internal correspondence now travel electronically, with full traceability and archiving in one place.

Less paperwork – more time for community and outreach

For each of these organizations, digitalization brings specific benefits: the Red Cross is switching to an electronic protocol and invoice book, Dobro.ba is consolidating thousands of pieces of data scattered across Word and Excel, SOS Children's Villages in BiH are automating the receipt and dispatch of documents with detailed reports, while Srce za djecu is centralizing the database of beneficiaries and projects for faster reporting to donors. Their common goal is less manual input and paper, more time and resources for assistance in the field.

Representatives of the organizations emphasize that "efficiency" is now the keyword of their everyday lives. "We process invoices and correspondence without waiting, they are available anywhere," say the Red Cross, while Dobro.ba emphasizes that all data is "available to the entire team in three clicks." SOS Children's Villages in BiH say that by implementing the OWIS program, SOS Children's Villages in BiH is following modern trends and investing in digitalization in order to improve its work. They expect OWIS to bring significant time savings, facilitate records and ensure greater transparency, which will allow them to better support the children, young people and families they care for." , and Srce za djecu adds that every time saved is "a step towards better service for young patients".

"For more than two decades, we have been enabling institutions and companies to focus less on administration and more on people. When we announced a call for free digitalization, we received more than 50 non-governmental organizations from all over BiH - confirmation of the great need for such tools. Institutions engaged in socially responsible work often face a lack of resources needed for advanced digitalization, and we believed that providing technical assistance and supporting resources for the functioning of the system would be an effective way for these organizations to focus on what they do best, helping those who need help the most. It was difficult to choose just four, but we believe that their example will show how much technology can relieve administration and encourage other IT companies to provide similar support. ", said Nihad Salkić, director of Orka d.o.o., the company that developed the OWIS system.

The digital breakthrough shows how IT solutions can greatly strengthen the civil sector: implementers' estimates speak of savings of as much as 70% in administration time and significantly greater data security. The software donation model behind this initiative opens up space for other BiH companies to support associations whose work changes society for the better.
